Industry Update


Along with the rest of the national economy, the automobile industry, both domestic and foreign, is being affected by mortgage and credit issues.  Sax Motor Co. has implemented policies to meet these challenges, recognizing that national issues will inevitably impact our area economy in some fashion.  First and foremost,  however, our highly trained technicians and sales staff will continue to provide quality product and quality service, going that "extra mile" for our loyal customers. 

Chevrolet is clearly going to be the featured core product of General Motors Corporation.  Along with Cadillac, the Gold Bowtie will get the bulk of R and D  for innovative technology married with style and safety.   New models such as the Malibu, Traverse, Camaro, Equinox, Volt, and the Aveo5 will all be in our showrooms by the end of 2010.  As a dealership, we have immense pride in these great American brands, and in our partnership with GM.

Our unusual winter weather has caused many customer concerns.  To be prepared for winter driving conditions - which seem to change very rapidly! - our recommendation is to have our technicians check your vehicle brakes and antifreeze level, and to make sure that your vehicle tires are property inflated.  For additional safety, keep your vehicle gas tank at least half full, remove all ice from windows and mirrors before driving, and pack a blanket and first aid supplies in your vehicle for emergencies.  Review your Onstar information (1-800-4on-star) and keep your Roadside service number (1-800-243-8872) available in the event you have an accident or experience vehicle problems. 

We have recently purchased the old SW grain building, and plans are underway to use this facility to reconfigure some of our internal and external space challenges. Thank you for your patience as we work to alleviate some of these challenges, particularly the question of adequate parking for our many customers.  The growth in our service and parts operation and in sales and vehicle inventory have emphasized the need for some necessary modifications, and we look forward to serving you more efficiently in the coming months.

Again, thank you for your loyalty to SMC over the past 85 years.  Please look for that loyalty to be recognized by Sax Motor Co.  through future service and sales programs and incentives as we travel that "extra mile" together.

Sax Motor Co. recently donated $2,100 to 7 local elementary schools as a part of their 7th Annual Christmas Tree Decorating Contest.

Beginning back in September, schools starting planning their "Country Christmas" tRee decorations and those who had a chance to take a look at their final creations were not disappointed.

The ballots have been counted and 1st Place went to Berg Elementary School. (Pictured, Christian Kostelecky, Sax Motor Co. and Carson Tuttle, Student Council President, Berg Elementary.)
